Musical Theatre

Ann Sophie started adding musical theatre to her art of passion in 2018, when she experienced her debut in Flashdance the Musical playing the wonderful role of Gloria and Alex Owens. Since then, she simply couldn’t stop exploring many more high profile roles on stage.

Ann Sophie has for example played Mata Hari in MATA HARI the Musical, Indigo in Cirque Du Soleil´s Paramour the Musical, Florence Vassy in CHESS the Musical and many more.

Florence Vassy

Currently the singer is portraying Florence Vassy in the musical CHESS by Benny Andersson and Björn Ulvaeus. Famous songs include One Night in Bangkok, Nobody’s Side and Heaven Help My Heart. Ann Sophie absolutely loves playing Florence amongst her colleagues.

“I just love to hop into different roles and explore what makes them who they are. Also, I am completely loving all the vocal challenges this role gives me. Singing Florence is so much fun!”

Mata Hari

It all begins with an idea and then a new musical is being brought to life. Ann Sophie has been telling the tale of dutch spy Mata Hari from the 20th century at the beautiful Gärtnerplatztheatre in Munich and has been blown away by this part. The music is beautiful, the story is soul-stirring and you simply cannot look away. Mata Hari has also offered Ann Sophie to release her first German Pop-Song “Orchidee”.

“I am deeply grateful I got to be a part of this production. Mata Hari is a character I simply will not forget.” - Ann Sophie

Indigo

After Ann Sophie has made her debut in Flashdance the Musical, she made her next big step and landed the role of Indigo in the Musical Paramour. This role was a big challenge and change for the singer, playing 8 shows a week at the Neue Flora in Hamburg. Together with the Cirque Du Soleil acrobats Paramour forms the first Musical ever made by the Canadian company. This musical tells the tale of a young singer “Indigo” who has big dreams and later finds out that what she was looking for all along, was love.

Alex Owens

Alex Owens. One of Ann Sophie’s favourite roles. It was because of her that Ann Sophie explored her love for musical theatre. This dynamic and courageous woman who is fighting for her love to dance shares the same fire Ann Sophie has within herself when it comes to singing. To never stop fighting for your dreams is what the two have in common, no matter how hard the path.

“Alex Owens will always be incredibly important to me. I owe(ns) a lot to her.”
